The letter ‘C’
CLOUD
C – constant reminder
L – look up to the Lord (see what the heavens declare)
O – out of the ordinary, God speaks
U – under the sun, there is nothing God does not see or know about – He is omniscient
D – divine protection and providence is found in the cloud
Ponder on these things:
Clouds can be a sign of something good or something bad. As we travel on life’s roads, we get light, cotton wool clouds that offer us protection from the harshness of the sun. Like some people who search for a shady spot to park their car, we seek protection under the shade of a gentle ‘cloud’; be it a hand of comfort, a kind word or a sincere prayer of a friend.
When we see dark, threatening clouds, we know to seek cover as a heavy downpour is on its way. We prepare ourselves for an expected outcome as we see evidence of things to come. Dark, looming clouds sends many people into panic and fear. The sound of heavy thunder grabs our attention. We hope and pray that everything is going to be alright.
When fear and anxiety surfaces, where do you put your trust? Many people might exclaim, “Oh my God, there’s a storm coming!” The vital question when storms of life come our way is, “Where do you turn for protection in your storm?” Is your safe haven in things or medical channels or do you seek out the Creator and Maker of heaven and earth – the One who controls the storm? ◊
Read these Bible scriptures on clouds:
Cloud of protection – read Psalm 105:39
Cloud the size of a man’s hand – read 1 Kings 18:41-46
Cloud of witnesses – read Hebrews 12:1
The Son of man will come in a cloud with power and great glory – read Luke 21:27
Your turn…
What can you come up with for the ‘cross’?
