Faith is a powerful word. It is defined as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Let’s see what is the Biblical acronym for it…
F – Forsaking
A – All
I – I
T – Trust
H – Him
Can you digest this acronym into your system and live it out in every waking moment afforded to you? Some, if not many, would say “easier said than done.” Very true!
As humans, we lean more on our own understanding, especially when things are tough. We want to take time to figure it out as best we can. Often we cannot comprehend that Heavenly Wisdom is different from Earthly Knowledge.
When Jesus called His disciples, they left everything and everyone to follow Him. In fact there are 22 references in the New Testament of Jesus saying ‘follow me’ to people. Here are some: Matthew 4:19; 8;22; 9:9; 10:38; Mark 10:21; John 10:27.
When we forsake all and follow the Lord, the reward is assured and cannot be taken away from us. Many people focus on building up ‘treasure’ for themselves here on earth, little realising that there is no guarantee where their stuff will go. Yet, when we put our faith and trust in God and walk in the path He sets before us, eternity with Him is promised. Read Ephesians 2:8-9 and Revelation 3:5 and also recite John 3:16. What a blessed hope!
Indeed we walk not by sight but by faith and our path is illuminated by Jesus who is the Light of the world (see John 8;12). Your part is to read and obey the Word and you will not stumble and fall as you walk along your path (see Psalm 119:105).
Note: If He is not God of all, then He is no God at all (in your life). ◊
