The contest still rages on … The cosmic battle continues on our terrain, gaining momentum and drawing more followers (or subjects) as the polarity between the two camps widens.
The rich get richer; the poor get poorer! Christmas is the season of goodwill. It’s the season of Love, Joy and Peace. Why? It was ushered in by the Peacemaker who came to Earth from Heaven to reconcile man to God – Romans 5:8 (ISV)“For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life!”
Walk into a shopping mall – what do you see, hear and smell? Money, money, money … in the rich man’s hand. Remember ABBA song. Is having everything ever enough? Look around, go to the places where the common people meet. Go to the markets, look around. What do you see, what do you hear, what do you smell? The money machine is well greased!
If the eye is meant to be the window to the soul, look beyond the flashy clothes, the fake nails, lashes, hair etc. etc. What do you really see? Polarities everywhere – Meek and lowly vs proud and arrogant – peace and joy vs superficiality and bad attitude, winners vs losers!
Genuine vs fake, real vs pretence. It’s not that difficult to figure out if you sit down quietly and open up your soul. We were all created with a God factor; we know right from wrong, good from evil and love from lust. If a dog can smell a bad person and a horse can sense fear in its rider, how much more are we inbuilt to detect evil doers?
The thief sucks you dry; he snatches that which is not his. The King has power over everything he owns. He can give to any of his followers whatever he wishes to give. Jesus came to earth as a meek and lowly baby but He is King of the universe. Lucifer was the chief musician in heaven and when pride got to his head, arrogance and defiance followed. He was cast down to earth but didn’t learn his lesson. He still casts his net wide and far. John 10:10 (ESV) says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
The new year dawns … the battle rages. Whose side are you on? Matthew 11:28 (NLT) says, “Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Meek certainly does not mean weak.♢
