Why would any parent want to scare their own child and cause him to have nightmares? Why would you take an innocent 4 year old and deliberately dress him up as a monster? What role model is that to follow? Why should he wear Dracula teeth and drip with ‘blood and slime’? What is the definition of fun? Is it not something that is pleasant and enjoyable?
I am not alone when I say that the world has gone crazy. Right is seen as wrong and wrong is celebrated as right. Yet, ironically, people know deep within their hearts that wrong is indeed wrong. If rebellion goes unchecked, we have a sorry state of affairs and a lot of answering to do to the next generation who are looking up to us as role models. How can we pass on the baton if we are fumbling in the dark? For that matter, do we know where the baton is or are we just groping in the slime of the pit we have ourselves walked into?
If you have a brain that is still useable, WAKE UP!
I am very pedantic about cobwebs on my window ledges and am constantly cleaning those areas. It is a pain! Going around my neighbourhood, I saw the great effort people took to buy cobweb stuff to PUT on their doors, windows and even their plants. If someone from a remote village came around, wouldn’t he find it strange and absolutely ridiculous to see cobwebs?
What attracts people to the sinister, dark and scary stuff? Is it not the dark nature in them that is drawing them to it? 1 Thessalonians 5:5 (ESV) tells us clearly, “For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.”
Why should we walk in the light? Ephesians 5:8-9 (BSB) tells us, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light, for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.
Like in the days of Noah, we are living in days filled with calamity and chaos. Who is going to provide the ‘Ark of Protection’ to our children from the mighty storm? Ephesians 5:11-12 (BSB) says, “Have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.”
I re-echo Ephesians 5:14 (BSB): “Wake up, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” ◊
