They say, “The darkest hour precedes the dawn.” The night brings its terror. Things in the dark are sinister-looking. The unknown is a malady of its own. Even a lion swallows its roar in the face of fear.
So much is happening all around us, we can barely keep up. Is the media taking centre stage in your life? Is it feeding your senses to senselessness, gripping your heart and crippling your mind?
Multitudes of men and women are losing hope! The pervasive hollowness spreads like a silent vapour across the human landscape. But, when hope is fading, never give up. Wait … the darkest hour precedes the dawn!
Yes, there will be casualties in this silent war we are engaged in. That is the stark reality of this pandemic. When we have an anchor in the storm, we will not be blown away and destroyed. When we have a solid rock and a hiding place, we will not be crushed. When we have a strong light to illuminate our path, we will not falter by the wayside. We will reach our destination, safe and secure!
While there is life, there is hope! Never give up! The Lord is our anchor in the storms of life and those who wait for Him will be greatly rewarded (Isaiah 40:31 “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”). He is our Rock and our Hiding Place (Psalm 61:2 “From the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I,”). The Lord is our Light (John 12:46 “I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.”).
Wait for the Lord; He will bring us to the other side, safe and secure. Our part is to trust Him fully and wait. We have nothing to fear when our confidence is in the Maker of the heavens and the earth.
